Over the hills and through the woods

For Thanksgiving we went to Jeff's parents' home.  Caroline always has so much fun "exploring" everything in a new place...and it helps that Grammy and Grandpa live on a golf course in the country.  Definitely different scenery than the hustle and bustle of New Orleans.  We had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner - the food was delicious and the girls were well behaved.  It was our first holiday without Granny and she was missed.  We had more leftovers than I remember having, so I think Granny must have been sneaking food when we weren't looking (she never had more than what Caroline would have on her plate)! We left Friday morning and stopped to cut our Christmas tree on the way back.  It was raining and Caroline was not happy, so we did not get any pictures of the tree cutting, but I can say, we were in and out of the tree farm in record time and we got a great tree!

trying for "nice" family pictures...

Daddy put Caroline's shoes on...apparently he doesn't know right from left!

what is she looking at?

c'mon...just a few more!

All smiles!

As I was uploading pictures to my computer, I came across these.  I can only guess that Caroline took these beauties because Jeff and I did not!  They are so cute!  Maybe I have a future photographer in my family!

Swing Swing

While Caroline and I went to a birthday party, Lucie and Jeff stayed home to put together our new swingset! After a lot of frustration and a little help from Caroline when we got home, the swingset was ready for play. Thanks, Daddy! We are having fun now!!!

Please don't get any bigger...

Caroline is an angel! She makes me laugh several times a day and there are so many things she will quit doing as she gets bigger. I don't want to forget...

...she calls blueberries and blackberries - blue babies and black babies
...we took the Halloween decorations down to get ready for Thanksgiving. I told her Turkey Day was coming. Since November 1, we have been getting ready for "Chicken Day" - gobble, gobble
...Caroline wakes up every morning next to Lucie; rolls over; gives kisses; says "Good Morning, Lucie"; wakes Lucie up to smile; then decides Lucie can't touch her or play with any of her toys for the rest of the day!
...Caroline's movie of the week is "Pokeno" or Pinocchio for the rest of us
...a fleur de lis, regardless of color, is a "who dat". Caroline sees one, then points and says, "Oh, dere's a who dat!"
...all onions are "boo-hoo-hoo's". Every time I take one out, Caroline says, "Cut that boo-hoo-hoo, mama!"
...Caroline is a true shoe fan. After her morning diaper change, she heads to her closet to pick a pair of shoes. Usually, they are not at all appropriate for the day, like the "glass" Cinderella slippers that are 2 sizes too big, so I must convince her to pick a different pair. But, once we are home for the day, she picks the pair she wants and they are on her feet until she kicks them off in her sleep. Yes - she wears the shoes to bed!
