Trick or Treat...maybe

This is the first year Caroline understood what trick or treating is all about. We went to Boo at the Zoo the weekend before Halloween and Caroline was very excited about trick or treating. However, on Halloween she was less than happy about the holiday. Daddy and Caroline started the day by carving a pumpkin. Two and a half hours later, we had an awesome Charlie Brown jack-o-lantern! Thanks, Jeff for undertaking the daunting task. As expected, Caroline lost interest about 10 minutes into the carving, but I think Jeff had a good time finishing the project. With all the emotion on Halloween, I managed to forget the camera during trick-or-treating. Don't fret...there are pictures of Boo at the Zoo and pre-trick-or-treating on Halloween. I have never seen a cuter Minnie and Mickey. I am sure Lucie will hold it against me later in life, but she was a great sport and very cute!

Pumpkin Patches

Lucie and I went to a pumpkin playdate while Caroline was at school earlier this month.  Although Lucie didn't love the pumpkins, I thought it was too cute to resist...

Since Caroline's first Halloween, we have made a tradition of going to a local church's pumpkin patch for photo ops and pumpkins.  Our first trip this year was with my mommy's group.  I had my hands full with the girls, so we were not able to purchase our pumpkins.

So, we went back with Daddy.  Caroline picked out lots of pumpkins and I just couldn't tell her we had to put some back.

C's 1st Concert

The Imagination Movers are a local band that was picked up by Disney a couple of years ago. They now have a television show that plays reruns daily. Caroline has become a big fan of the show and, I must say, so have I. When the current tour was announced, I thought about getting tickets, but the show sold out in less than 2 hours and I wasn't quick enough. No need to fret, the week before the concert, Jeff came home with tickets for the family. Then, 2 days before the concert, Jeff came home with "Meet and Greet" passes. As if she didn't think it already, Caroline thinks Daddy hung the moon!

We had a really long weekend (LSU/Florida game), so we were very thankful B and Pops volunteered to watch Lucie so Jeff and I could take turns hanging out with Caroline during the concert. We had a great time! Caroline started jumping up and down the minute the music started. She had her meltdown moments, but recovered quickly. We sat on the same row as the Spera's - Keith's perspective really sums it up for a 2 year old at a concert! At the Meet and Greet, she got each mover to sign a picture and then posed for a photo op with each Mover. Naturally, she was completely shy and did not ham it up with the Movers. But, as we were leaving, she kept asking to "Go hug the Movers".

Now, when she sees the TV show, she says she knows the Movers and that she took a picture and hugged the Movers. I can only hope she gets star treatment at every concert she attends!

Sweet Caroline #1

On a recent visit to City Park, Caroline became a doting friend. I was so happy to capture these tender moments.

Who dat!?

Today we had a fun-filled family day to the Saints-Jets game. I was really hesitant to bring the kids knowing Caroline's attention span was not going to last for 4 quarters. But, it was a wonderful day and everyone had a great time! It was raining when we parked, so we took a cab from my parking garage to the Dome. We did not have car seats, so Caroline was ready to "drive the bus" like she does when we are parked in the driveway. Needless to say, she was not too happy that she had to sit still. As we were walking up the ramp, the fans started cheering "Who Dat". Caroline was so excited and started cheering along with them. At the game, she loved to clap and squeal. She even booed along with the die-hards one time. Lucie was frightened by the loud cheers at first, but settled down and slept for the game. She got to stretch out during halftime when we went to the club room for lunch and to run off some energy. Everyone was pretty worn-out by the 4th quarter, but we made it to the end. In fact, Caroline fussed when it was time to go, but not for long because we got to walk in the drizzle on the way back to the car! It seems Caroline is a bigger Who Dat than me. I was wishing I was being carried in the Baby Bjorn and napping like Lucie. Well, not exactly - it was a very exciting game!

My turn! My turn!

Several of my friends have blogs - especially my mommy friends. I have been "following" their blogs for a few months. It is very interesting to watch the kids grow and document all the silly things that make being a mom so special. So, I have decided to take a spin on the blog wheel. I don't know how dedicated I will be, but it's something I want to try out. Who knows - I may become addicted and my kiddos will be so thankful down the road. Just - no promises!
